HighlightsSummary
Hard body lure makers prefer treble hooks for a simple reason: they are highly effective at hooking fish. Most hard body lures feature two sets of treble hooks, providing six needle-sharp points that maximize the chance of converting strikes into solid hook sets. Swimerz Striker Trebles are versatile and suitable for finesse rigs, as stingers, or as replacements on existing lures.
Detailed FeaturesBenefits
- O’Shaunessy Design: Easy for anglers of all skill levels to use.
- Heavier Gauge Construction: Offers enhanced strength, making them ideal for Australian lure fishing.
- Black Nickel Coating: Reduces visibility in the water and is popular for use with low-stretch braid or heavy fluorocarbon lines.
- Versatile Use: Suitable as a stinger, part of a finesse rig, or as a replacement treble on lures.
- Customizable Hook Size: Selecting the right treble size is essential for optimal lure action and avoiding tangles. Anglers can adjust hook size to fine-tune lure performance for specific conditions.
When selecting treble hooks, consider lure size and intended fishing application. Matching hook size to lure size prevents tangling and maintains the lure’s intended action. Upsizing or downsizing hooks can also be used strategically to alter lure behavior, such as adjusting buoyancy or resistance.
